He’s been steadily progressing through the offseason, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback has now been cleared to cut and change directions, according to Pro Football Talk.

Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray missed the first day of the team’s OTAs with what coach Jason Garrett characterized as a “hamstring tweak,” according to Pro Football Talk.

The San Diego Chargers have been in the market for an offensive tackle throughout the offseason, and they finally were able to add a veteran presence yesterday. The Chargers agreed to a one-year contract with Pittsburgh Steelers free agent Max Starks, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.

Green Bay Packers free agent Charles Woodson has finally found a new home, as the veteran signed a one-year contract with his former team, the Oakland Raiders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Woodson’s new deal with the Raiders includes a base salary of $1 million, while the defensive back has the ability to earn up to $4.3 million next season.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril has been sidelined for the team's OTAs as he recovers from a plantar fascia injury, according to Eric Williams of The News Tribune. Coach Pete Carroll told reporters that Avril's rehab is going "well," but the defensive end is still a few weeks away from returning.

“Well, it hurts,” joked Carroll. “You could ask him about it. The plantar fascia thing is a real uncomfortable thing. You just have to wait it out. It’s something that you can come back from. It’s not a problem. But you just have to wait it out. He’s real anxious to go, and he’s doing very well in his rehab. And he runs some this week for the first time. So it will take another couple weeks at least.”

Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Leon Hall will miss the beginning of OTAs due to a torn ligament in his thumb, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

While Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing isn’t sure if he’ll be ready for the first practice of the team’s upcoming training camp, he did tell reporters – including Nick Scurfield of HoustonTexans.com – that he’ll “definitely” be on the field for the first game of the regular season.

“My return is right around the corner, so that’s a good feeling,” Cushing said on Monday after the Texans’ first practice of OTAs. “I can definitely tell you I’ll be ready for the first game of the season, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be ready for the first practice come training camp.”

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo underwent a minor surgical procedure to remove a cyst from his back last month, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. The surgery will sideline Romo through organized team activities (otherwise known as OTAs), and sources tell ESPN Dallas that it could keep the quarterback out until training camp.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III continues to recover from the significant knee injury that ended his 2012 campaign. While his recovery is said to be going extremely well, Redskins general manager Bruce Allen told reporters – including Mark Maske of The Washington Post – that it’s too early to tell if Griffin will be ready to practice when the team opens training camp in July.

It appears that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be able to proceed with his recovery from a broken forearm, as yesterday’s procedure revealed the infection that was delaying progress has been cleared, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Houston Texans linebacker Brooks Reed underwent surgery to repair his torn groin in January following the end of the team’s season. Now, as the Texans begin OTAs today, Reed is recovered and completely healthy, according to Dave Zangaro of CSN Houston.

The market for Green Bay Packers free agent Charles Woodson has picked up in the last few weeks. He’s visited with several teams, and he has at least one other meeting lined up. While the Detroit Lions are not viewed as a favorite to ink the veteran defensive back, Woodson said he’d be willing to join the team at the right price, according to Angelique S. Chengelis of The Detroit News.

It was recently reported that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski would require the fourth surgery on his injured forearm at some point this week. The Boston Herald confirmed yesterday that the time would be today, as Gronk is set to go under the knife this afternoon at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Last week was a ‘pivotal time’ for contract extension talks between the New York Giants and wide receiver Victor Cruz. While this was reportedly the case, negotiations continue “moving slowly,” according to Pro Football Talk.

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin has been suspended four games by the NFL for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances, the team announced yesterday.

It just keeps getting worse for New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. Yesterday it was reported that he would undergo his fourth surgery on his injured forearm. Now, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that Gronk is battling “chronic” back pain, an ailment which the Patriots are investigating.

The Atlanta Falcons remain confident that they’ll be able to reach an agreement with quarterback Matt Ryan that will keep him with the team for years to come. However, contract talks haven’t progressed much recently, as general manager Thomas Dimitroff told Alex Marvez and James Miller on Sirius XM radio – courtesy Pro Football Talk – that there’s nothing new to report on the status of a deal.

“Right now there’s nothing new on the contract,” Dimitroff said. “Understand that he will be here. We will get this done and we would prefer to have this done sooner than later.”
