Patriots Injury Report: Dont’a Hightower, Aaron Hernandez, Julian Edelman

The New England Patriots were able to rally late against the Buffalo Bills Sunday despite the absences of tight end Aaron Hernandez and wide receiver Julian Edelman. While he was able to start Sunday’s game, linebacker Dont’a Hightower exited the contest after sustaining a hamstring injury.

Edelman enters week 5 as questionable. He missed Sunday’s game against the Bills after a hand injury forced him to sit out a full week of practice.

Hernandez has been out since week 2 when he sustained an ankle injury during the Patriots’ loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It’s unclear when the 22-year-old will be able to return for the Patriots, but there’s a chance he’ll suit up for this Sunday’s contest against the Denver Broncos.

Hightower sustained his injury while recording a sack against Buffalo. It caused him to exit the game, but he’s reportedly doing better and isn’t expected to be sidelined Sunday.
