Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing suffered what
appeared to be a torn left ACL last night during the team’s victory over the
New York Jets, reports Jon Marks of the Houston Chronicle:

“I don’t really know what happened,’’ said Kubiak, following Houston’s first primetime road victory. “They tell me he got caught on a play and his foot might’ve gotten stuck in the turf.
“Obviously, that’s crisis No. 1. We’ll take him home and get it looked at. Obviously, we’re very concerned. Let’s sit here and hope for the best.’’
Cushing sustained the injury during what Marks termed a “questionable
block” by Jets offensive lineman Matt Slauson. NFL.com comes out and calls it a
chop block.
It would be a huge blow to the Texans’ defense if Cushing is
forced to miss an extensive stretch. If he is sidelined, Houston has indicated
that Tim Dobbins and Bradie James will likely fill in for the 25-year-old.
