San Francisco 49ers quarterback
Alex Smith was once again limited at practice Thursday as he continues to
recover from a concussion he sustained last weekend, while wide receiver Mario
Manningham (shoulder) and running back Frank Gore (rib/wrist) were full participants
in practice.

Smith continued to sport his
black jersey at practice, which signals no-contact. This is viewed as an
initial step in returning to the field Monday night against the Chicago Bears.
If he continues progressing as he had so far this week it looks like Smith will
be able to suit up for the 49ers.
San Francisco doesn’t have any
players that have been ruled out for Monday’s game, and other than Smith only
cornerback Chris Culliver (shoulder) was limited at practice yesterday. All others
listed on the team’s injury report, including Gore and Manningham, were full
participants.
