Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler left last night’s
contest against the Houston Texans after sustaining a concussion during the
first half of the game. Cutler, who was replaced by Jason Campbell, has yet to
be ruled out for next week’s matchup with the San Francisco 49ers, reports
Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com.

"We're hopeful (that Cutler is available next week), but can't go that far," coach Lovie Smith said. "I just know he had symptoms, which started clearing up after the (first) half. But when a guy doesn't finish the game, you just have to go with that right now."
While Campbell was a starting quarterback with the
Washington Redskins for several seasons, the Bears would face quite the drop
off on offense if they are forced to go with him over Cutler. After being
diagnosed with the concussion, Cutler would seem poised to miss at least one
week of action.
