The face you see on just about every commercial break on ESPN or any sporting event will be relegated to the sidelines this week. You know the face - the one with his own image plastered on his walls, the one with the flowing blonde locks. Clay Matthews is expected to miss Sunday's game for the Green Bay Packers and will be replaced by Dezman Moses.
According to the Hudson Star-Observer, the rookie linebacker, Moses, will get the start as Matthews continues to recover from a hamstring injury he suffered against the Arizona Cardinals. The Packers had a bye last weekend, so this will be the first start for Moses, but he says he's ready.
Moses has seen plenty of game action so far this year. He has played in nine games, has one sack, and eight tackles. He should be able to adjust to starting just fine, and it will only be a short-term adjustment. The Packers do not expect Matthews to miss much more time. However, like most injuries, the hamstring can be tricky. Matthews will have to be the one to really determine when he is ready to go again.
Moses was drafted out of Tulane. He is just 23 and will get to show what he can do in a starting role. As for Matthews, the Packers will certainly be lacking on defense without him, but they can lean on their offense to carry the load. As long as Matthews isn't out for too much longer, Green Bay should be fine.
