Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen has told reporters,
including Paul Gutierrez of CSN Bay Area, that he will start getting quarterback
Terrelle Pryor “a little bit of game action” at the end of the season so the
team can see what they have in the athletic passer.

“I think the biggest thing is to start getting him in a game, a little bit of game action,” Allen said Friday. “I'm not ready to say that he would be a starter. I think that Carson, obviously, he's made a couple of mistakes the last couple of weeks but yet, Carson's been one of the reasons why, specifically, earlier in the year, why we had a chance in certain games.”
Pryor has only appeared in one regular season game, and that
came last season against the Kansas City Chiefs. While Allen doesn’t believe
the 23-year-old is ready to be a starter for the Raiders, the club does want to
see what it has in the second-year product of Ohio State.
This has a lot less to do with the play of current starter
Carson Palmer than it does with the Raiders needing to see what they have in
Pryor for the sake of their future, according to Allen. Palmer is on pace to
come close to Oakland’s single-season franchise record in passing yards, as he’s
currently on pace to hit 4683 yards, 27 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
