Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will start against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, returning to action after missing the last three games with a shoulder injury.
Roethlisberger has missed the team’s past three games due to
shoulder and rib injuries. He sustained the injuries during a contest against
the Kansas City Chiefs.
After watching Roethlisberger practice for the second
consecutive day Thursday coach Mike Tomlin announced that he’s comfortable
playing his quarterback this weekend. The coach did admit that the one unknown
remains how Roethlisberger will respond to getting hit, something he says will
be answered on Sunday against the Chargers.
Pittsburgh has lost two of the three games they have played
without Roethlisberger. After coming up short against the Baltimore Ravens and
Cleveland Browns the team rebounded behind veteran backup Charlie Batch and the
defense to claim their second matchup against the Ravens.
