Kevin Acee of utsandiego.com reports that the San Diego Chargers are very interested in Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.
Arians, 60, did an unbelievable job while taking over as interim head coach for the Indianapolis Colts this season after head coach Chuck Pagano was diagnosed with leukemia. If the Chargers were able to land Arians, they could see their 7-9 team turn into a playoff caliber team.
According to Acee, Arians has in fact shown mutual interest. Although Arians has a small sample size as a head coach, he has shown leadership qualities -- which may be what the Chargers need at this point in time.
I mentioned earlier that Arians did an unbelievable job as interim head coach. In 12 games, Arians -- with the help of rookie sensation Andrew Luck -- led his team to a 9-3 record and a spot in the playoffs as the #5 seed.
Along with showing good coaching and good leadership qualities, Arians has proven that he is a great person. He helped lead the "CHUCKSTRONG" campaign, which was huge of the city of Indianapolis.
