Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher told Neil Best of Newsday yesterday that while it would be a challenge for him to return
to the NFL, it is something he would eventually like to do.
"It would be a challenge," he said of the layoff since he last coached, "but I think that's probably why I would get back into it, because of the challenge."
Cowher went on to say that even though he’s not coaching, he’s
not out of the game. He’s currently an analyst for CBS Sports and says that his
new job keeps him studying the NFL each week and aware of how the game is
changing.
Cowher stepped away from the NFL six seasons ago. He was successful
for a long time with the Steelers, and he finally managed to put the team over
the top and win a Super Bowl which only increases his legacy and value to
potential suitors when he does decide to return.
