Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder is dealing
with a sore right elbow that has limited him at practice this week as the team
prepares for Saturday’s rematch with the Green Bay Packers, reports The Associated Press.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Wednesday that he isn't concerned with Ponder's ability to play in the game. Frazier said he expects Ponder to ramp it up in practice Thursday and be ready to go for the third game this season between the NFC North rivals.
Ponder sustained his elbow injury during Sunday’s victory
over the Packers. The quarterback’s elbow hit the helmet of a Packers’ player
while he was following through after throwing a pass. The injury didn’t cause
him to exit the game.
While he’s been viewed as somewhat of a limiting factor for
the Vikings this season, Ponder played well last weekend against Green Bay. The
second-year quarterback completed 16 of 28 passes for 234 yards and three
touchdowns.
