Before having to pay his bonus in March, the Vikings released veteran WR Michael Jenkins.

Jenkins was due to receive a $2.425 million roster bonus
this month if he remained on the Vikings’ roster. This was a price Minnesota
had no interest in shelling out, so the team elected to part ways with the wide
receiver.
Jenkins appeared in all 16 of the Vikings’ regular season
games, making eight starts last season. During that time he caught 40 passes for
449 yards and two touchdowns. He had three receptions for 37 yards and a
touchdown during the team’s first-round playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The 30-year-old Jenkins spent the first seven years of his
career with the Atlanta Falcons before joining the Vikings in 2011.
