New England Patriots offensive lineman Donald Thomas is
expected to test the free agent market which is set to begin on Tuesday,
according to Shalise Manza Young of The Boston Globe.
While the Patriots have shown interest in re-signing Thomas,
the 27-year-old is “fully expected” to test the open market, according to
Young.
Thomas played in all 16 regular season games for the
Patriots last season. He filled in for multiple injured starters, including
Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly.
While he proved pivotal to the team’s offensive line last
season, if Thomas were to remain with the Patriots for next season and beyond they
would expect to pay him as a reserve player. He will try and see if other teams
feel he should be a regular after his production last season.
